Sunday Session 2 (2012)

It's been just over a month since I teamed up with Thea  and played Sunday Sessions on her blog I'm hoping that I will now have the time to this every Sunday as I do miss playing along.

If you want to join in you can you just have to click one of the three links in the above sentence which will take you to Thea's blog and you can link up with her once you have posted the songs you love on your blog.

This first song I heard as a theme from a BBC (British Broadcasting Commission) tv show I love that we get on our ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission) the name of the show is called "Getting On"

This second song is going back to the 90's but is still a hit with me and now also with our daughter.

My two fav songs this week are This first one is cause a lot of my twitter friends have been doing their places up.

and yes I think I may have posted this one before but I wanted to post it again as Spicks & Specks will no longer be on Australian TV after 7 wonderful years gracing our screens & I do love this part so much. (I love all of the Spicks & Specks but some parts are better)

Sunday Session 39

It's that time again, your asking what time ? It's Sunday Session time with the lovely Thea The idea behind Sunday Session is you grab a song (or 2 or more) usually Thea posts an oldie and a newbie (but I love more the oldie songs then newies so hence why I post more newbies). You then link you songs up on your blog to Thea's blog by pressing the Sunday Session button to the right of the screen.

This week all my songs are from movies that I love which means I also love the songs I've posted

The first song is from a movie but I loved the way it was done on Spicks and Specks by the gang plus by the guy singing it the original Riff Raff from the movie Richard O'Brien I urge you to stay till the end of the clip when there is a surprise from Adam Hills. I would love to know what you think of Adam Hills and the surprise he does.

Hope you like the movie & song I loved it and can watch it over & over again

Now I must say with this one I didn't like the actor in it but I did love the movie and song

The last movie is around 31 years old now but still love it.

As some of you may know during the week I did a blog post called The Snip If you haven't read it and would like to just click the link I'll wait ....waiting .....waiting .....waiting ....welcome back now that got me to thinking what songs men would NOT like to hear while getting The Snip

Most men said the following two songs, which I must own up to that I love listening to as I was growing up never understanding the meaning of them till later on in life in my teenage years.

The First song has been disabled so you will need to click the link to listen to it

Sunday Session 32

YEAHHHHHHH it's Sunday Session time once again with the lovely Thea who every Sunday posts two or more songs usually one being an oldie and one being a newbie. Then gets other people with blogs to join up if they wish. A lot of people who know me know that I usually only post oldies as most of the new songs that come out these days to my ears and eyes are crap but there are some exceptions.

The first one I am going to post I grew up with and pops into my head from time to time it's a great song by the Brotherhood Of Man (On a side note I did have a major crush on the lead male singer)

The next one I'm going to post is another one I fell in love with as I was growing up it's by The 5th Dimension ( Love the small 45 record brings back memories the song starts playing around the 26 second mark)

Time to creep into the 1980's here with this song that I use to play full volume when my parents weren't home.

Now to slide all the way back 1976 and listen to some Tina Charles when this use to be played a lot at discos, even the blue light disco's.

Sunday Session 31

It's that time again, time for Sunday Session with the lovely Thea The idea is to post an oldie and newbie on your blog (although you can post just oldies, like I do or just newbies) then link up with Thea's blog by either hiting her name in this blog or hitting the Sunday Session button on the side of this blog. Here are my picks for this week.

The first one comes to mind any time I talk about how when adults went to school as kids we had a lot more freedom then kids do these days cause they are wrapped in to much cotten wool with all the new school rules etc.

The other one I always think of when I see a truck on the road. (Make sure you have tissues handy)

I got one more its a parody song, now don't get me wrong I love animals have a cat of my own but sometimes these parody songs are just so funny & bring a smile to my face.

Sunday Session 25

First up let me say sorry for not joining in the Sunday Session for the last two weeks but I have been busy with my Uni studies, now here it is Sunday once again and that means its time for Thea's Sunday Session where you post two of your favourite songs and link it up to her blog.

My first pick for this Sunday come about cause I was chatting to a dear friend called maidinaustralia  (who on a side note has a awesome blog of her own) on Twitter, about what Alcholic drinks I haven't tasted as yet and one of them I haven't tasted is a Pina Colada which reminded me of this favourite song of mine.

Now I don't know about copyright laws so I wont post the next song but will give you a link to it, It's a parody of another song & its wonderfully done by Stephen Colbert and The Saturday Night Live gang. Please press here if you want to go listen to it

Sunday Session 22

For the last two Sundays I have missed playing Thea's Sunday Session due to the fact I've had the flu but I'm back this week with heaps of songs to post to join in this week and for the two posts I've missed over the other two weeks.

The idea is you put a oldie & newbie song up on your blog then link to Thea's blog and some of us are also now linking to Natasha's  blog as well, so don't forget to check out her blog as well, you can link to both.

My first pick for this week is Just Can't Get Enough by Depeche Mode

The next one is not so much a song but a nice piece of music called Apache from the Shadows, there is nothing like sitting with a group of friends over a drink and just listening to some music without any lyrics to it Do you agree?

Another great piece of music without lyrics I love listening to is Classical Gas by Mason Williams watch the flim clip & let me know what you think about the surprise around the 45 second mark.

The next song I love and fell in love with it more when I heard the Great Dame Judi Dench sing it not only is she a great actress but she has a wonderful voice The song is called Send In The Clowns I play this song everytime Hubby & I are foolish in our thoughts to each other at times.

Now if you can hang on I got two more songs left to post the next one is Roy Orbison's Candy Man

The other Candy Song I love is the one from the Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory movie and is called The Candy Man

Well hope you enjoyed all my music this week and that I've given you all enough music to cover me being away for the last two weeks.

Sunday Session 8

It's that time again it's "Sunday Session" which was created by the lovely  Thea who on Sundays pop's two of her favourite songs onto her blog an oldie but a goldie plus a newbie fresh off the charts.

Then other bloggers can link up to her blog by doing the same thing, usually mine are all oldies cause I don't like a lot of the newbies that are on the charts at the moment, but when I do I'll post it.

This week I'm going to posting 4 songs as my way of giving all my readers a present for Christmas so sit back with your fav glass of booze/soft drink or what ever else grabs your fancy and take a listen to the following.

The first pic for this week is

Devil Went To Georgia, love the beat of the music and the fiddle playing.

The second one is Heard It Through The Grapevine, not sure what it is about this song I love so much it just keeps playing in my head every time I first heard it at the pub.

My third one I love is I Love A Rainy Night, the first time I heard this was on the radio every time it rains I think of this song along with other raining songs.

The last one is another song I remember every time it rains and how people at Newton pub use to belt it out when it was played.
